ROTARY YOUTH PROGRAM OF ENRICHMENT (RYPEN)

What is RYPEN ?

The Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment was first developed in Australia in 1980.  Download Brochure Here

 

RYPEN is a weekend long leadership camp held yearly for 14-17 year olds and supported by D9600 Rotary Clubs.

RYPEN aims to provide young people with the opportunity to develop their potential and self-esteem, provide experiences that will assist them to form their own values and moral standards, and to broaden their cultural, social and academic horizons.moral standards, and to broaden their cultural, social and academic horizons. The program will push students to develop their leadership skills so that they can excel in their field.

The program this year will be held from the 11th-13th of August 2017 at Luther Heights Camp at Coolum.


Activities: 

The program varies from year to year however students will be involved in:

Goal setting , Presentation skills , Problem solving and decision making  

Self-esteem building , Outdoor activities and sports e.g. high ropes      

Inspiring guest speakers

 

 Who is RYPEN for ? 

Students who have leadership potential and other positive personal attributes, who are community-  minded  and  actively  involved  in  the  community  or  who  demonstrate  the potential for involvement in community programs.  

It is considered that the camp would be both a reward and recognition for their efforts. Those selected must be prepared to follow the Code of behavior for the weekend. The latter is based on courtesy, common sense and cooperation so that everyone receives the maximum benefit.

Process to apply/sponsor?


1.   Download application form   Here 

2.   Contact local schools or interact clubs and find interested students.

3.   Interview  students  if the club decides to. 

4.   An invoice will be sent to sponsor clubs

5.   Camp Director  will liaise with students with regards to the program.

6.   Club invited to RYPEN Dinner on the 12th August

7.   Invite RYPEN student to speak to the club after the program to tell you about their experiences.
