ROTARY YOUTH PROGRAM OF ENRICHMENT (RYPEN)

What is RYPEN ?

The Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment was first developed in Australia in 1980.

 

RYPEN is a weekend long leadership camp held yearly for 14-17 year olds and supported by district 9600 Rotary Clubs.

RYPEN aims to provide young people with the opportunity to develop their potential and self-esteem, provide experiences that will assist them to form their own values and moral standards, and to broaden their cultural, social and academic horizons.moral standards, and to broaden their cultural, social and academic horizons. The program will push students to develop their leadership skills so that they can excel in their field.

The program this year will be held from the 12th-14th of August 2016 at Luther Heights Camp at Coolum.

 Activities: 

The program varies from year to year however students will be involved in:

Goal setting , Presentation skills , Problem solving and decision making  

Self-esteem building , Outdoor activities and sports e.g. high ropes      

Inspiring guest speakers

 

 Who is RYPEN for ? 

Students who have leadership potential and other positive personal attributes, who are community-  minded  and  actively  involved  in  the  community  or  who  demonstrate  the potential for involvement in community programs.  

It is considered that the camp would be both a reward and recognition for their efforts. Those selected must be prepared to follow the Code of behavior for the weekend. The latter is based on courtesy, common sense and cooperation so that everyone receives the maximum benefit.

Process to apply/sponsor?


1.   Download application form   Here

2.   Contact local schools or interact clubs and find interested students.

3.   Interview  students  and  send  completed  form  to 
  RYPEN  D9600  Chairman  - 
  Charles Priest-Shop 10, Village Centre, Gibson Rd, Noosaville, QLD, 4566.
  Along with cheque for $250.

4.   RYPEN program co-ordinator will email students program information.

5.   Invite RYPEN student to speak to the club after the program to tell you about their experiences.
