ROTARY OCEANIA MEDICAL AID FOR CHILDREN
(ROMAC)
ROMAC is
dedicated to provide medical treatment for children from developing
countries. The lives of many children
would end if it were not for ROMAC. Our
surgeons treat complex cases unable to receive treatment in their own
countries.Â
ROMAC
has a National Board and Regional Committees. The Northern Region
Committee is a Multi-District entity embracing Districts 9550, 9570, 9600,
9630, 9640 and 9650, coordinating the activities of ROMAC within those
Districts. The District Chairman of each
of the District ROMAC Committees is a member of the Multi-District Northern Region
Committee.Â
The District
9600 Committee informs Clubs, Rotarians and their partners and Friends of ROMAC
of the ongoing work of ROMAC, requests funding and organises the necessary
caring support required for ROMAC patients and their carers within our District.

ROMAC has been in operation since 1987
ROMAC provides medical treatment to children from developing countries up to 15 years of age, in the form of life-saving and/or dignity restoring surgery
ROMAC is the only Rotary sponsored children’s medical program
ROMAC is managed by regional committees in all areas of Australia & NZ
ROMAC is supported by government hospitals, private hospitals and doctors and nursing staff in all states of Australia and  New Zealand
ROMAC has, to 2016, treated more than 400 children
Considerable assistance from the medical profession and fundraising efforts ensure there is no disadvantage to Australian children because of the treatment we provide to the poorest children in the Asia/Pacific region. Doctors treating ROMAC children gain skills from these complex cases and that knowledge is used to benefit our Australian children
Please support ROMAC to ensure
continuity of this much-needed project
Donations of $2 and
over are tax deductible
