DONATIONS IN KIND [DIK]

Rotarians have access to items that have no further use in Australia but can serve a need in the developing world.
D. I. K. will coordinate the dispatch and delivery of these items, including:

 Books: school, library, reference, medical,
general reading, etc

Equipment: desks, chairs, blackboards, school supplies, typewriters, computers, etc

Health: hospital supplies, medical equipment, wheelchairs, beds, mattresses, trolleys, etc

Rotary Clubs must be careful when sending donations to new destinations.

The Rotary Club in the recipient area should be involved in the clearance through local customs and the distribution of the donations. Rotary Clubs should liaise with the Regional DIK Chairman for advice. Container freight costs can be very expensive. Regions may require funding assistance from Rotary Clubs and Districts.

Tax deductibility can be arranged for private donations.

Computers 4 Kids

Computers can be donated via the Rotary Club of Nundah Computers 4 Kids Inc. This is a non profit organisation. The project refurbishes ex Government and Corporate PCs for distribution to disadvantaged students of any age. http://www.computers4kids.com.au
