Darryl Iseppi

Darryl was born in Toowoomba in 1963. Growing up on his parent’s farm on the Darling Downs between Bowenville and Jondaryan he experienced a variety of farming and the vagaries of Farm Life. Having attended Bowenville State School, then Dalby State High School travelling almost 3 hours every day for school, he moved to the big smoke of Brisbane to study Medicine living in Union College at St Lucia. Changing studies in 1982 he completed his Bachelor of Commerce whilst working full time for Arthur Andersen & Co. This work saw him travel across Australia and to Goroka and Mount Hagan in PNG. He also became a Registered Internal Auditor, Chartered Accountant, Registered Company Auditor, Quality Control Auditor, Registered Trainer, Registered Tax Agent, his employer’s leading fraud investigator, and Superannuation Specialist. He was also the first to bring computer aided auditing to his employer.

In 1985 after years involved in various youth movements and science activities Darryl joined the Rotaract Club of Aspley which he remained a member of until he joined the Rotary Club of Aspley on 14 June 1990. Darryl was president of the Rotaract Club during Expo 88. His year of presidency in Aspley was also the year Glen Kinross was Rotary International President (1997-98).

In 2013 the Rotary Club of New Farm was chartered with Darryl as Charter President. He has held numerous club positions: Vice- President; Treasurer;  Club, Youth, Vocational and International Director; Membership Chair; Program Chair; Acting Secretary; Foundation Chair and Auditor. In addition to these roles Darryl has represented his clubs and Rotary on a number of local organisations boards.

At a District level, Darryl was on the District Rotary Rotaract Liaison Committee for 3 years as a Rotaractor plus a further 3 years as a Rotarian. He was District Alumni Chairman 2007/08 and 2008/09 and in 2006/07, Darryl was District Finance Committee Secretary, followed by District Treasurer in 2007/08 and Finance Chair in 2008/09. Continuing on at district, he was District Secretary and District Administrator in both 2010/11 and 2011/12. He was also on the District Organising Committee for District 9600 Conference in 2010/11 and 2011/12 and has agreed to be the Conference Chairman for 2017-18. He was the District Auditor from 2013 to 2016 before stepping down after the 2016 accounts.

In 2013/14 Darryl continued his involvement on The Rotary Foundation Committee as District TRF Fundraising Chairman. In this role he helped PDG Eric Wood with The Million Dollar Dinners in 2015 and 2016.  He is an Arch Klumph Society member and Bequest Society member of The Rotary Foundation and a Charter member of the District Paul Harris Society. Darryl became a Diamond Friend of ARH in May 2006 and is now a Gold Companion.

Currently serving Rotary in the position of District Rotary Foundation Chair for 2016-2019, a role he is enjoying immensely as well as looking forward to share 2019-2020 with the district members and the wider community.
