RAWCS Donations in Kind Northern Region has recently received from the Queensland Children’s Hospital and other sources a large quantity of medical supplies and consumables, all of which would be invaluable to the health authorities in Papua New Guinea with their response to the current outbreak of COVID-19 within the country. As well as the supplies that we have in stock in Brisbane, we have received an offer of a quantity of PPE as well as at least one Ultrasound Machine from sources in Victoria. RAWCS Donations in Kind Northern Region is in a position to pack a container immediately, the only thing that is stopping us is the lack of funds.
An appeal has gone out to all clubs through your Area Governors, but individuals can also donate using the button below. Please also talk in your clubs about supporting this urgent effort. All donors will receive a tax deductable receipt.
World Malaria Day, which takes place on 25 April each year, is an internationally recognized day, highlighting the global efforts to control malaria and celebrating the gains that have been made. Since 2000, the world has made historic progress against malaria, saving millions of lives. However, half the world still lives at risk from this preventable, treatable disease. In Australia, Malaria Awareness Day is observed on 30 April each year, in conjunction with World Malaria Day on 25 April.
We want to raise $100,000 for projects in the upcoming year, so we are challenging each District to raise $5,250. Help us reach our goal!

BIG – Ballet International Gala is set to be the greatest ballet gala Australia has ever seen. The most talented dancers from across the world will come together to showcase their incredible ability over a series of two intimate evenings at South Bank’s Piazza Auditorium. Keep your eyes and ears open as we disclose our fantastic dancers in the coming period. Save the date for either the 25th or 26th of June 2021, and get in quick because good ballet usually sells out in Brisbane!
The Rotary Club of Brisbane is proud to be associated with the Ballet International Gala both as an official supporting organisation and as the club the promoters of the event call home. As a result of our support, BIG have agreed to donate 10% of net proceeds to Roadies Retreat Inc., a charity that supports disadvantaged retirees from the entertainment industry, many of whom face homelessness and poverty due to the casual and intermittent nature of employment in the industry and the historic absence of proper structured retirement benefits. We are also excited because this will be an opportunity to see dancers who would normally never come to Australia. If you are a ballet fan it would be more than worth your while even if Rotary wasn't involved!
The presidents-elect training seminar (PETS) is designed to prepare incoming club presidents for their role and give District Governors-elect, District Coordinators and incoming Assistant Governors the opportunity to motivate incoming Presidents and build working relationships. It also provides a great springboard for club Presidents to form cluster relationships which have proven to be exciting avenues for service.
All Presidents-elect are required to attend PETS unless the governor-elect excuses them. Presidents-elect who are excused need to send a club representative in their place.
Clubs are encouraged to send us news of upcoming events that they think members of other clubs might be interested in attending. A good event notice might include some or all of the following. It must be actionable in some way if it is to have an impact.
